Plenary Indulgence Granted to Members of the Militia of the Immaculata

In order to promote a greater esteem for plenary indulgences and to acquire them with right dipositions in accordance with the teachings of Pope Paul VI, the General Office of the MI by means of its Supreme Moderator requested the Holy See that its enrolled members be able to acquire a Plenary Indulgence on each of the following days:

1. On the day of their enrollment in the MI
2. December 8: The solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
3. February 11: The memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes
4. March 25: The solemnity of the Annunication of the Lord
5. May 13: The memorial of Our Lady of Fatima
6. August 15: The solemnity of the Assumption of Mary
7. October 4: The feast of St. Francis
8. October 16: The anniversary of the founding of the MI

This request was granted on October 24, 1967; and further stipulated that in addition to the customary conditions for gaining the Indulgence (confession, Holy Communion, and an Our Father, Hail Mary or any other prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father), each one must renew on each of these days, at least privately, one’s promise to observe faithfully the by-laws of the MI.
